Rockefeller Center

Like millions of people this past Wednesday evening, I sat relaxed on the couch watching the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Spectacular!

Of course, it wasn’t the same as being there to witness that magical moment; however, the performance by The Radio City Rockettes just a few minutes before the lighting was a nice treat and the perfect complement to the show.

Upon watching this festive event, naturally, I wanted to find out if people could visit the tree up-close to take pictures this year, so I investigated online. To my delight, the answer was yes, with a 5-minute limit for viewing and strict social distancing guidelines.

Before I knew it, I was driving in the rain on 6th Ave this Saturday just before sunrise, looking for a parking space near the plaza. Fortunately, I found street parking two blocks away from the tree, which allowed me to avoid paying a ridiculous parking lot fee. LOL!

After parallel parking in a tight spot between a BMW and Lexus SUV (thank goodness for the backup camera), I put on my gloves, got out of the car, dashed over to the tree, and took several pics to ponder and write about later.

Then, I drove to the gym, hopped on the elliptical, and wrote this post while working out!

Share your thoughts, and have a jolly weekend! 😊
