As I sat on a bench overlooking the Hudson River on a cloudy Saturday morning, reflecting on 2020, the sounds of tiny waves gently crashing into the rocks just a couple of feet away ignited a feeling of calmness throughout my body.
In the midst of fully embracing this moment, I stood up and walked over to the rail to lean against it to better admire the bridge that leads into Ellis Island, not to mention the breathtaking view of the New York City skyline in the background.
A few minutes later, I began to hear a skein of geese approaching fast in the gray sky from the left side of where I was standing. Naturally, I looked up in that direction, and after snapping a quick pic with my iPhone before the flew by, I sat back down to savor the moment and then got lost in thought!
When I came out of this pleasant state, I felt like writing, so I grabbed my phone and started typing in everything that came to mind for the next 12 minutes! After that spontaneous free-flowing writing experience, I was eager to review my notes and identify any worthwhile ideas that need further development.
Okay, it’s time to get back in the house, remain put for the rest of the day, and catch up on some reading. LOL!
Share your thoughts, and have a safe weekend! 😊
