On my way outside first thing this Sunday morning, I bumped into a neighbor I haven't seen in a while on the elevator. She was with her dog, and after exchanging pleasantries, we decided to take a stroll together, as we both wanted to advantage of the cool mid-60 degree weather.
Nearly thirty minutes into our walk, her puppy became super active, and she asked if I was okay with taking a break by the lighthouse so that her dog could run around in the grass freely. I said, of course, just as long as I can grab us some coffee to sip on while we wait.
Before I knew it, I was in and out of Starbucks with a caramel macchiato for her and a grande blonde roast for me. A few minutes later, we each were relaxing in a white Adirondack chair, chatting up a storm and observing little Phoebe run wild, eventually tiring herself out.
As we continued sitting in the shade, watching her energetic dog run around gleefully, I began to notice the view of the lighthouse and the NYC skyline blending so beautifully in the backdrop, and I just had to take some pictures. In doing so, I suddenly became inspired to write!
Before my thoughts evaporated, I politely asked my friend to give me a couple of minutes to capture my thoughts about this experience in my journal in real-time, and she said, Anthony, do what you do!
Five minutes later, I was all done with my latest journal entry, and she asked me if she read what I wrote. After reading it, she gave me a curious look, and then we both burst out laughing. We stayed there talking for fifteen minutes more and then headed back to our building—the end. 😊
Indeed, a fun way to begin my day. I will conclude this lighthearted post by wishing you a relaxing Sunday and a productive week ahead. Let's go!
BTW—I could not settle on which photo I liked the best, so I decided to share them all. Lol!
