Jogging Down 7th Ave in NYC

It's Sunday morning, September 12, and the time is 7:21 am, with the temperature at a balmy 67 degrees. On the heels of an emotional Saturday for all of us, New York City is relatively quiet right now, as I stand here on the corner of 57th Street and 7th Avenue observing my surroundings.

Yet, I can feel and see her beauty all around me through the quietness, making me feel peaceful inside. Thus, evoking a big smile on my face that I trust you can see as you stand here with me in spirit.

With my AirPods on, listening to a smooth jazz playlist, and getting ready to jog down 7th Avenue over to 34th Street, I pause for a second to look to my right and then to my left to make sure that it was safe to cross the street.

Now that the coast is clear, I start crossing the intersection, and halfway across, I notice a bus, devoid of passengers, zooming by straight down 7th Avenue, leaving a trail of fumes in the air. Zoom-zoom!

What's more, I was suddenly in a writing mood, triggered by the sight and sound of that bus speeding by, so I got ready to begin capturing my thoughts. Let's do it!

Once I made it to the other side of the street, I quickly came upon a guy setting up his hot dog stand in preparation to open up for business. I thought he was out a little early, but I can't knock his hustle, so I figured that I would patronize him by buying a fresh bottle of lime sparkling water.

After completing a cash transaction, I stopped right in front of the Park Central Hotel main entrance, took a few sips of my water before putting it in my backpack, and then took off jogging down 7th Avenue. Let's go!

Since I was not in a hurry this morning, I jogged and periodically slowed down to walk for a few minutes to better appreciate the moment. Eventually, I broke out into a light sweat, which I wanted to do, letting me know that I got a decent workout in.

Along the way, I got lost in thought, and before I realized it, I was standing on the corner where Herald Square and 34th Street meet.

Well, friends, time flies when you're having fun, and indeed, that was a pleasant run. Moreover, I got my cardo in and some productive thinking time simultaneously; therefore, this Sunday is off to a magnificent start!

And with that, I just spotted the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station, so it's time for me to head down and catch the train home.

However, before walking downstairs, I moved over to the right side of the subway station entrance to avoid blocking any pedestrian traffic. Then, I spent the next six minutes typing this journal entry and decided to share it with you via this post. Lol!

Enjoy your Sunday, and I encourage you to find time to embrace the present moment.

Have a great week ahead. Let's go! 😊
