After completing a lovely stroll along the High Line earlier this week, capped off with having a delicious lunch at the Little Spain restaurant, I decided to go inside the Shops at Hudson Yards to do a little shopping. Upon picking up a few things to jazz up my wardrobe a tad bit, I was ready to leave the mall and catch the train back to my crib.
Just as I was exiting the mall, I spotted the Vessel while looking through the enormous windows. When I walked through the glass doors, I immediately sensed an exciting buzz in the air coming from the people waiting in line to go inside the Vessel. As a result, I felt inspired to tour the area, and without a second thought, I proceeded to walk straight ahead for about 15 yards to find a spot far enough away to get a full view of the Vessel!
Upon positioning myself in the ideal location to get an excellent view to take a pic, I intentionally stood still for ten minutes, admiring this unique-looking structure and all the joyful faces also observing nearby.
As soon as I finished taking pictures, I turned my body to the right and started walking towards a shaded area where several people were sitting and enjoying lunch.
Once I glided past them, I landed in front of a gorgeous mural that I just had to stop and check out. As I was standing there examining this terrific piece of art, I also noticed a woman dressed in a black & beige striped blouse and bright white pants posing for a picture. And let me tell you, she was really into it!
Then, the guy taking her photo started walking towards me, and when he was exactly six feet away, he politely asked if I would take a picture of them together, and of course, I agreed. Ironically, they were from Spain, so I had to tell him about the Little Spain restaurant I went to for lunch and shared some additional insight on the Big Apple. Lol!
After that pleasant exchange was over, I continued roaming around the Hudson Yards as if I was a first-time visitor. By doing so, I now have a greater appreciation for this area, and I departed amazed by the things I've overlooked during my many visits to this remarkable place.
Okay, it was now time for me to go home, so I began making my way towards 34th Street. When I got across the street and close to the Hudson Yards subway station, I turned around for another look at the Vessel, took a final pic, and went home—the end.
So, where will you be watching the Fourth of July fireworks? Weather permitting, I will be taking in the fireworks standing alongside the Hudson River with family and friends.
Have a fun and safe rest of your holiday weekend! 😊
