I kicked off my Saturday by having a cup of hot chocolate near The Rink at Brookfield Place in lower Manhattan. Not a typical weekend landing spot for yours truly; however, I deliberately chose an unlikely place to journal, recharge the batteries, and to contemplate life after a hectic and exhilarating workweek. Happy to report that it was refreshing to watch the youth and grownups have such a blissful time ice skating while viewing the eye-catching skyscrapers from Jersey City up to Hoboken on the other side of the Hudson River. As I continued to observe my surroundings, I began to notice a teenage girl ice skating that kept falling; and each time she fell, she popped right back up with the encouragement of her coach. What is more, her resolve to keep getting back up and battle through the lesson was inspiring! Consequently, a favorite quote of mine flashed in my head, “The magic you’re looking for is in the will of trying and not giving up!” -Tom Brady. This scenario serves as a good reminder that no matter how many times life knocks you down, keep getting back up.
