While taking a leisurely jog around the city reflecting on 2019 in anticipation of the start of the new decade, I stumbled upon the street-side entrance to NBC Studios and the Rainbow Room Observation Deck accompanied by several cold and fast walking individuals on the way to their respective destinations. As a result of partaking in this action, it was something about the sight of the word ‘Rainbow’ in the affixed photo that prompted me to think of a quote by the Maya Angelou, “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud,” which is the basis of this post. The further I get along my life’s journey, the more and more I realize that words are powerful. The simple act of bestowing a few kind words on another person at the right time doesn’t take much energy as long as it comes from the heart. Besides, you never know what someone is going through, so an act of genuine selflessness could make all the difference to the person receiving your words at that moment and potentially change the trajectory of their life!
